Description	:	Mrs. Hannah Starkey passed away at her home in Loretto Saturday afternoon at 12:50, after an illness of more than a month’s duration. Hannah Lucinda Eschelman was born in Illinois on December 12, 1853, and died at her home in Loretto, Nebraska, July 21st, 1934, at the age of 80 years, seven months and nine days. She moved from Illinois to Manchester, Iowa with her parents when a young girl. She was united in marriage on September 2nd, 1877, to Joshua Starkey, at Manchester, Iowa. Read More	Mrs. Hannah Starkey passed away at her home in Loretto Saturday afternoon at 12:50, after an illness of more than a month’s duration. Hannah Lucinda Eschelman was born in Illinois on December 12, 1853, and died at her home in Loretto, Nebraska, July 21st, 1934, at the age of 80 years, seven months and nine days. She moved from Illinois to Manchester, Iowa with her parents when a young girl. She was united in marriage on September 2nd, 1877, to Joshua Starkey, at Manchester, Iowa. June 11th, 1909 they moved to Loretto to make their home. One son was born to this union, Arthur Starkey of Loretto. Besides her son she leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Mrs. Carrie Cook at Genoa, a niece, Mrs. A. M. Atkinson of Genoa; and other nieces and nephews in Iowa and Nebraska. Her husband preceded her in death January 7th, 1918, at their home in Loretto. Mrs. Starkey became a Christian about forty years ago, uniting with the Christian church at Clay Center, Nebraska. After moving to Loretto she transferred her membership to the Christian church at Albion, remaining a true Christian to the end. She was a faithful wife, and a kind and loving mother, and was loved and admired not only by those near and dear to her, but by a great many friends. Funeral services were held at the Christians’ chapel in Albion, Monday afternoon and interment made in Rose Hill cemetery. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – July 26, 1934)
