Read More	CALLED TO BEYOND PROMINENT TEKAMAH LADY PASSES FOLLOWING EXTENDED ILLNESS Hannah Davis Phipps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davis was born in Cedar county, Iowa, November 15, 1859 and died at her home in Tekamah, Nebraska, Saturday, October 31st, 1925, aged 66 years. She was united in marriage to Levi D. Phipps June 30, 1881. To them were born two children, Lawrence G. Phipps and Miss Goldie Phipps, both of Tekamah, besides these she leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Mrs. Phipps united with the Chrisan church in her early youth and later transfered her membership to the Presbyterian church in Tekamah of which she was a member at the time of her demise. Her husband who was sheriff of Burt county several years predeceased her nine years passing away in [sic] December 31, 1916 Mrs. Hannah Davis Phipps came to Burt county in her early childhood, her parents were among the first settlers in what was later known as the Davis neighborhood so called on account of the location of the four Davis families, Thomas, James, Aaron and Joseph on adjoining farms about six miles south of Tekamah on the Omaha road near what will always be known as Davis Creek in honor of the first settlers, Mrs. Phipps father Joe Davis was a member of the school board that erected the first school house in that district in the sixties, which is still known as the Davis school house. Mrs. Phipps was a very quiet and reserved lady and devoted to her family and her home with many loveable [sic{ traits of character which endeared her to all who made her acquaintance. She was attended during her failing health by her daughter Miss Goldie whose love and devotion was all that mortal could do, but God called and the mother answered her final summons to the home beyond. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon from her late residence. The Rev. W. H. Hunter, pastor of the Presbyterian church conducting the services. The Order of Eastern Star of which the deceased had been an active member for many years, also the Womans [sic] Relief Corp, in which she always had taken an active part, attended in a body. Mrs. Lucile Clark sang two selections "He Knows" and "The City Four Square" which were very impressive. The floral tributes were beautiful from the friends expressing the love and esteem in which the departed was held in the community. The pallbearers were E. L. Ellis, C. G, Norseen, W. E. Olinger, W. G. grig [sic], F. E. Ward, G. A. Ireland. Interment was made in the Tekamah Cemetery beside her late husband. Sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family in their loss of a mother. Those present from a distance were her two brothers, L. J. Davis of Craig and Henry Davis of Sioux City, Iowa, three brother-in-laws, W. O. Phipps and E. C. Phipps from Bagley, la ., J. R. Phipps, Wayne and their sister Mrs. W. J. Johnson of South Sioux City and other relatives and friends,
