Hannah Rebecca Burmeister was born February 14, 1895 in Franklin Township, Cass County, the daughter of John and Margaret Aldag Behnken and was married to Cyrus A. Burmesiter on January 15, 1919. Hannah Rebecca Burmeister was born February 14, 1895 in Franklin Township, Cass County, the daughter of John and Margaret Aldag Behnken and was married to Cyrus A. Burmesiter on January 15, 1919. The couple farmed southeast of here until his death March 12, 1934. Mrs. Burmeister, a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, continued to make her home on the family farm for ten years and moved to Cumberland in 1945. She had been in failing health for 15 years. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Donald Eden of Wiota, Mrs. Lawrence Query and Mrs. Thomas Daugherty of Cumberland, and Cleo Burmeister of Anita; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, William of Massena and Claus of Anita, and two sisters, Mrs. Louis Kennedy of Atlantic and Mrs. Sam Huddleson of Wiota. Preceding her in death beides her husband were two children who died in infancy, her parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Chester and Mrs. Mrs. Prather. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Evangelical church with the Rev. M. H. Brandt officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at Hodges funeral home.
