On other side of stone is the name "Marrie__" and Oct. 7, 1822" Remainder of stone is unreadable on that side. The Stickney Book stated Hannah was born 26 Sep 1789; however, she wrote in her granddaughter, Eliza Stickney Hoag Gibson's autograph book that she was born in Eastern Washington County, New York on Oct. 9, 1796. The Stickney Book stated Hannah was born 26 Sep 1789; however, she wrote in her granddaughter, Eliza Stickney Hoag Gibson's autograph book that she was born in Eastern Washington County, New York on Oct. 9, 1796. This agrees with the age at death facts inscribed on her tombstone and her age during the 1860 Horicon, New York census. She was the mother of a daughter, Laura Andrews, and three sons, Franklin, Henry and Densmore, who grew to adulthood. She was the mother of two sons, Samuel Henry and James Hervery Stickney, who died young or in infancy. Hannah's granddaughter, Laura Stickney Andrews, wrote at the age of 82, this about her grandmother: "Hannah married Moses Stickney of North'd May 9 1822, emigrated to Warren Co NY and settled at the outlet of Brant Lake, a new country almost an unbroken wilderness having to follow blazed trees for a guide to his purchase. He saw the possibilities, water power- mills and other needs of a new country, backed by a vast region of unexplored and unappreciated timber land then nearly valueless, in a few years to be in good demand and no way to be gotten to market but through the stream that was private property, a [rem?] business followed and he resided there continuously for forty five years. In 1865 came to Waubeek with all his children where he lived seventeen years and was then laid beside his wife in Jordan's Grove Cemetery whom he survived a little more than three years."
