Higgins died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William H. Wood of Smithfield, Jefferson county after a painful illness of dropsy for several weeks. She had been in a very precarious condition for some time and her death has been momentarily expected by her family and friends so that the telegraphic announcement here was not a surprise. She was 75 years old and was a woman of many exemplary qualities having reared a family... Read More	MRS. HANNAH HIGGINS Died at the Home of Her Daughter in Smithfield. Mrs. Hannah W. Higgins, the widow of the late Joseph s. Higgins died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William H. Wood of Smithfield, Jefferson county after a painful illness of dropsy for several weeks. She had been in a very precarious condition for some time and her death has been momentarily expected by her family and friends so that the telegraphic announcement here was not a surprise. She was 75 years old and was a woman of many exemplary qualities having reared a family of ten children, nine of whom are living. She was a member of the New Church (Swedenborgian) and lived a consistent christian life. She went to visit her daughter in Smithfield several months ago where she died. The remains were brought here yesterday to the home of her son Dr. J. M. Higgins, and the funeral will be held today. The interment will be made in the new cemetery.
