Description	:	Hannes Willems died last Thursday evening at his home in Eldora following a long illness due to complications. He was 56 years old. Obituary Hannes Willems, son of Gerhard and Antje Willems, was born in German township, Grundy co., Iowa, Aug. 13, 1896. He grew to manhood in the same community in which he was born. Read More	Hannes Willems died last Thursday evening at his home in Eldora following a long illness due to complications. He was 56 years old. Obituary Hannes Willems, son of Gerhard and Antje Willems, was born in German township, Grundy co., Iowa, Aug. 13, 1896. He grew to manhood in the same community in which he was born. In his infancy he received Christian baptism and later received Christian instruction in the East Friesland Presbyterian church, Ackley. In 1918 he made public confession of his faith and became a member of the church. He was united in marriage with Florence Fae Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis., on March 26, 1926. Together they lived in the Ackley community until last December, when they moved to Eldora. Mr. Willems had always enjoyed good health until last spring, when he became ill and had to submit to a serious operation. He recovered sufficiently from the effects of the operation so that he could leave the hospital and return to his home. His departure from this life came very suddenly Wednesday evening, Sept. 10, due to a heart attack. He attained the age of 56 years and 29 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his deeply bereaved wife, Mrs. Florence Johnson Willems; three daughters: Anna Mae, Mrs. Arnold Larson of Lincoln, Iowa; Mildred, Mrs. Evan Anderson of Iowa Falls; and Audrey at home; nine grandchildren; his aged father, Gerhard Willems of Ackley; 3 brothers; Bohle, George and Jake, all of Ackley; six sisters: Mrs. Will C. Jutting, Mrs. John Beving and Mrs. Louie Schultz, all of Ackley, and Mrs. John Ross, Mrs. John Jutting and Mrs. Jerry Lutterman of Wellsburg; also one nephew, Robert Schreck of Milwaukee, who spent a great share of his younger years in the Willems home. Besides many other relatives and friends. His mother and two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Brandt funeral home in Eldora and later at the East Friesland Presbyterian church. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.
