They sailed on the ship Thingvalla and arrived in New York May 17, 1884. Last residence in Denmark was Thestrup, Soro. Obituary in Minden, Nebraska Courier May 5, 1938: Hans F Hansen called by death. Funeral services for Hans F Hansen, who died at Bethany Home Friday evening, were held Monday afternoon from the Layton Funeral Home and from the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church. Rev Hofgaard assisted by Rev John C Romer conducted the services. Burial was made in Fredericksburg cemetary. Hans was born in Seeland, Denmark April 8, 1850. In 1880, he was married to Miss Anna Petersen. In 1884 Mr Hansen and family emigrated to this country and settled in Kearney County, in the Fredericksburg community. Mrs Hansen died in 1906. Hans moved into Bethany Home Feb 1, 1927 and lived there until his death in 1938.
