Description	:	Hans Frederick John Striggow was born at Tarkow, Mechlenberg Schwerin, Germany, on January 12, 1857, and passed away at his home in Burress, Nebraska, on May 20, 1931; aged seventy-four years, four months and eight days. He came to the United States when he was twenty-eight years of age, settling first in New York state, coming to Nebraska a few years later, and remaining in this state during the rest of his life. Read More	Hans Frederick John Striggow was born at Tarkow, Mechlenberg Schwerin, Germany, on January 12, 1857, and passed away at his home in Burress, Nebraska, on May 20, 1931; aged seventy-four years, four months and eight days. He came to the United States when he was twenty-eight years of age, settling first in New York state, coming to Nebraska a few years later, and remaining in this state during the rest of his life. On April 2, 1902, Mr. Striggow was united in matrimony with Miss Catherina Griesel, and to this union were born three children, Carl, Paul and Martha. Mr. Striggow united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Burress in 1903, and later he and Mrs. Striggow transferred their membership to the same church in Fairmont. He was a loving husband and a kind father, and has left behind him a place of loving remembrance in the hearts of all who knew him. His passing is mourned by his sorrowing wife, two sons, one daughter, one grandson, one cousin, Charles Striggow of Davenport, Nebraska and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home in Burress and in the Fairmont Methodist church on Friday afternoon, May 22, by the pastor, Rev. J. Henry Stitt, and interment was made in Fairmont cemetery. A very large number of old friends were in attendance at the last rites. The hymns, "Rock of Ages," "O Think of the Home Over There," and "Going Down the Valley," were sung by Mesdames Charles Shoemaker and W.R. Dorrance and Messrs Elwood Bender and Alden McFadden, with Miss Ruth Hurst at the piano; the minister speaking the fords in the Epistle of Saint James, Chapter four, verse 14, "Ye know not what shall be on the morrow."
