Visitation will be 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wedneaday, July 11, at Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Pierce. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster. The Rev. Karl Wordell will officiate. Mrs. Ernie McLaughlin will be organist, with Vivian Cox, Dennis Vinson and Arnold Gutz singing "Heaven Is My Home" and "Abide With Me". Hans Heinrich Suckstorf was born November 16, 1904, in Albertsdorf, Fehmarn, Germany, the son of Ferdinand and Gertrude (Maas) Suckstorf. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed at a Lutheran Church in Landkirchen, Germany. He attended schools in Germany to the ninth grade. In 1924, he came to the United States, to Pierce County, Nebraska, and worked for his uncle, Carl Suckstorf. In 1925, he started work for August Gregerson and in 1940, started farming his own land near Foster. He married Lydia Reikofski on March 2, 1941. Together they farmed near Foster, until 1965, when Hans developed a rare disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Scierosis, known as ALS. In 1972, they retired from farming and moved into Foster. Surviving are his wife, Lydia of Foster; one daughter, Mrs. Richard Dannelly of Valentine; one grandson; one brother, Karl Suckstorf in Germany; and two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Bohrk and Mrs. Ferdinand Maas, both in Germany.
