Description	:	Funeral services were held Thursday, September 1, 1955 for Hans Martin Bendickson, 77, at the Silver Lake Lutheran church with the Rev. Carl J. Hanson officiating. Bendickson died at his home in rural Emmons on Sunday evening, August 28, 1955 Hans was born in Winnebago county July 3, 1878, the son of Martha Nilsdatter (Johnson) and Civil War Veteran, Ole Bendickson. He married Serena Thompson Feb. 3, 1913, at the Silver Lake Lutheran church. Hans farmed in the Emmons vicinity until his retirement when his son took over the farming operations. Bendickson died at his home in rural Emmons on Sunday evening, August 28, 1955 Hans was born in Winnebago county July 3, 1878, the son of Martha Nilsdatter (Johnson) and Civil War Veteran, Ole Bendickson. He married Serena Thompson Feb. 3, 1913, at the Silver Lake Lutheran church. Hans farmed in the Emmons vicinity until his retirement when his son took over the farming operations. The Bendickson’s continued living on the farm. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Sorbo and four sons, Endre and Elthon at home; Harlan of Northwood, and Glenn of Lake Mills. Twelve grandchildren survive. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ole Reine (Anna) of Maddock, N. D. and a brother, Jacob of Missoula, Mont.; also several nieces and nephews. Hans was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bendick, Nils, Peter, and Gilbert; and daughter Lila in 1920. Burial was at the Silver Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery.
