Description	:	Hardis Corrine Kupfer, 88, Ellendale, formerly of Bismarck, passed away March 22, 2009, at Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Bismarck, with Doug Schacher, officiating. There will be no visitation as burial has taken place in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Hardis was born March 6, 1921, to Elling and Larsine (Vadstein) Satreaas near LaMoure, where she grew up and attended school in Gladstone Township. She graduated from LaMoure High School and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. Hardis worked in the LaMoure County Courthouse until her marriage. On June 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ervin Kupfer at her parents' home. They lived in Ellendale, where she worked as Deputy County Auditor in the Dickey County Courthouse. In 1966 they moved to Bozeman, Mont., and was employed at the University of Bozeman. They moved to Bismarck in 1967 where she was employed at the State Capitol in State Banking and the State Auditor's Office until her retirement. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Petersen, Monango; one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Cynthia Kupfer, Mandan; three grandchildren, Troy (Ginger), Petersen, Todd (Sara) Petersen and Teresa (Chad) Jensen; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Margit Bjerkreim, Great Falls, Mont.; one sister-in-law, Edna Satreaas, Verona; and one brother-in-law, Al Klein, LaMoure. Hardis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Arthur Satreaas; and three sisters, Anna Busch, Hulda Klein and Ruby Klima.
