Description	:	Harlan W. Truscott, 77, of Crab Orchard died in a Lincoln hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. He was born June 27, 1938 at rural Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in 1956. He worked at the Atlas Missile sites in Nebraska from 1959 - 1962. He was a long-time farmer, raising cattle and sheep and also worked for USPS as a rural carrier. In April 1970, he married Linda Huls and they later divorced. Truscott, 77, of Crab Orchard died in a Lincoln hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. He was born June 27, 1938 at rural Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in 1956. He worked at the Atlas Missile sites in Nebraska from 1959 - 1962. He was a long-time farmer, raising cattle and sheep and also worked for USPS as a rural carrier. In April 1970, he married Linda Huls and they later divorced. He was a former member of the Sterling United Methodist Church and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Sterling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and took several trips to Canada and Colorado. Survivors include his son, Bill (Pam) Truscott of Sterling; three grandchildren, Hailey, Taylor and Avery Truscott; one sister, Diane (Eldon) Wellman of Auburn; niece, Kari (James) Roat; nephew, Mitchell (Debbie) Wellman; former wife, Linda Truscott of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rawlond and Lucille Goracke Truscott. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Sterling Cemetery of Sterling with Pastor Steve Chellew officiating. Lunch will follow the inurnment at the St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling. A memorial has been established to the Sterling Rescue Squad. There will be no viewing or visitation. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling in charge of arrangements.
