Description	:	Harless Parmer bird was born March 30, 1892 at Avery, Mo. in Benton County and passed away December 24, 1985 at the St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Mo. at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 24 days. He was the son of McDonald and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Bird. He was united in marriage to Minnie Lee Layman on December 2, 1924, and to this union two children were born. Read More	Harless Parmer bird was born March 30, 1892 at Avery, Mo. in Benton County and passed away December 24, 1985 at the St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Mo. at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 24 days. He was the son of McDonald and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Bird. He was united in marriage to Minnie Lee Layman on December 2, 1924, and to this union two children were born. Lee Bird of Boise, Idaho and Wilma Divine of Mishawaka, Indiana. On April 5, 1929, he was united in marriage to Halla Berneice Miley, and to this union three children were born. Albert Curtis Bird and Lou Ann Bird Heidebur of Birch Tree, Missouri. Also one infant son who died at birth. He is survived by his four children, one loving step-son, Wayne Miley of Winona, Mo.; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Ola Mae Price. Also six step-grandchildren, twelve step-great grandchildren, and three step-great, great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his father, mother, wife, one infant son, a devoted daughter-in-law, three sisters, three brothers, two step-children, one step-grandson, and one step-great granddaughter. He also leaves to mourn his passing many loving nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors. "Parm" as he was known, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He attended school at Oak Grove with Lona Parker as one of his favorite teachers. He worked at many jobs as a young man, such as farm work, sawmilling and well drilling. He was a good neighbor willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed him for anything. He loved his gardening and shared it with many. He loved nature and was a sportsman at heart who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took much pride in serving his country in World War I, and lived the war over and over while telling many stories of his adventures during that time which he was wounded and become disabled. He also loved to tell many other interesting stories that occurred during his lifetime. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. Our loss is heaven's gain. Funeral services were held Friday, December 27, 1985 in the Methodist Church at Birch Tree at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Gene West officiating. Burial was at Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree.

Parm's mother was Elizabeth (Lizzie) "Shrader", daughter of Henry Shrader and Elizabeth Barnhart. She was born in Sevier Co.,TN as was most of my Bird/Byrd line. They were one of the first settlers of Sevier Co., coming from Shenandoah, Virginia.
