Description	:	Funeral services were held at the Kill Creek Presbyterian church Saturday morning November 6 for Harley Newton, who passed away at the Smith County hospital after suffering a stroke, a few days previous. Harley Newton was born in Albion, Nebraska June 15, 1892 to Mr. and Mrs. David Newton and departed this life November 3, 1954, age of 62 years, four months and 19 days. Harley Newton was born in Albion, Nebraska June 15, 1892 to Mr. and Mrs. David Newton and departed this life November 3, 1954, age of 62 years, four months and 19 days. When he was a few months old, he came with his parents to Osborne County where they settled on a farm near Natoma. There he grew to young manhood and on February 28, 1920 he was united in marriage to Edith Bowen. They made their home on a farm in the Kill Creek community until his death. To this union were born five children, 4 daughters and one son. Mr. Newton was a faithful member of the Kill Creek Presbyterian church. He leaves his devoted wife Edith, his son and daughters, David Newton of Alliance, Nebraska, Mrs. Wilda Reynolds of Natoma, Mrs. Mildred Beimler of Phoebus, Virginia and Norma Jean and Marcene of the home: eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nora Denio of Natoma and Mrs. Flora Mauck of Purdy, Missouri and four brothers. Oscar and Carl of Natoma, Jack of Waldo and Robert of Great Bend. His parents, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
