The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral will follow the visitation in the Midland Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Byrd will officiate. Burial will follow at Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Union County. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Cabarrus County DAV Chapter #27. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Born June 17, 1914, in Union County, he was a son of the late William Marshall Haigler and Mary Presson Haigler. He was a veteran of World War II and an employee at Cannon Mills for 42 years, where he was a weaver. He was a member of First Advent Christian Church of Concord where he served as deacon for many years. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Violet Robbins Haigler, of the home; two sons, Ted W. and wife, Sandra, of Wilmington and Gary L. and wife, Lisa, of Concord; three daughters, Barbara H. Berry and husband, Wylie, of Charlotte, Betty H. Barbee and husband, David, of Midland and Pamela H. Durham and husband, Melvin, of Midland; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marshall Haigler, of Stanfield; and one sister, Ella Eudy, of Concord. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Brian Center for their excellent care of our loved one. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to First Advent Christian Church, 1005 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28025. Judy Elizabeth Shoe Biedler MONROE - Judy Elizabeth Shoe Biedler, 57, of 3101 Hampton Down Drive, Monroe, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at her home. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord. The Rev. Abe Ferris will officiate. Burial will be at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. At other times the family will be at the home of a brother at 165 Fryling Drive. Born Aug. 13, 1947, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of Ruth Kluttz Shoe and the late Clarence M. Shoe. She was a loan processor at State Employees Credit Union, Monroe. She was a graduate of Wingate University. In addition to her mother, survivors include husband, Kite Biedler, of the home; daughter, Susanne Biedler, of Charlotte; brother, Kenneth Shoe, of Concord; and sister, Doris Russ, of Concord.
