Kellogg, Caught in Weather Last Saturday, Dies at the Hospital. H. H. Kellogg, the Omaha Box company driver who was severely frost bitten last Saturday morning, died at the General hospital early Wednesday morning. While the freezing of his hands and lower limbs and the resulting shock to his nervous system is thought to have led to death, the immediate cause of death is given by Dr. Ford as cerebral hemorrhage. An autopsy will be held over the body Wednesday evening, after which the body is to be taken to Fremont, Neb., for burial. Benjamin Kellogg, the son and only surviving relative of the dead man, will accompany the body. He is in the city now. The body is at the undertaking rooms of Brailey & Dorrance, Nineteenth and Cuming streets. It was while driving a team and wagon from the bag factory in East Omaha to a blacksmith shop on Sherman avenue during the severe wind and cold of last Saturday that Kellogg suffered the freezing of his limbs. He had been at the hospital since that time, with small chance for recovery. As soon as Dr. Ford saw him he declared that death would probably result. H. Kellogg, who died in an Omaha hospital, was brot to Fremont. Funeral services under the auspices of the W. O. W. were held at 2:20 in Morse hall, Rev. Schleh of Omaha, grand chaplain of the order officiating. Interment was at Ridge cemetery. Instead of being overcome with cold, as was first reported, it is said that Kellogg, who was a driver for the Omaha Box company, and was picked up in an unconscious condition near a blacksmith shop at Sixteenth and Paul streets last Saturday, was stricken with paralysis. It was first reported that the stroke of paralysis came on as a result of his exposure to the cold, but it has been learned that he was walking about the blacksmith shop when suddenly he keeled, striking his head on a wagon wheel. Mr. Kellogg until two years ago had resided for a long period in Fremont. His son, B. W. Kellogg, and wife, Mrs. H. H. Kellogg, and Mrs. Schleh accompanied the remains. The pall bearers were: A. A. Wertz, Frank McCleland, E. Pscherer, Martin Schleicher, John Hansen, John Hardenbrook.
