Description	:	HAROLD AMBROSE DAVIS Harold Ambrose Davis was born August 25, 1910 at Solomon, KS to Henry M. and Laura Davis, and died suddenly September 3 while on vacation near Glendive, Montana. His early childhood was spent on a ranch in western Nebraska. Later the family lived in Clay County, KS and in Nemaha county. He attended high school at Wetmore. Read More	HAROLD AMBROSE DAVIS Harold Ambrose Davis was born August 25, 1910 at Solomon, KS to Henry M. and Laura Davis, and died suddenly September 3 while on vacation near Glendive, Montana. His early childhood was spent on a ranch in western Nebraska. Later the family lived in Clay County, KS and in Nemaha county. He attended high school at Wetmore. On June 9, 1938 he was united in marriage to Dorothy McKeever. Their married life was spent in the Circleville and Bancroft communities, where he operated a garage and repair shop. Besides his companion, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Elliott, Netawaka and a son, Francis, Piper, KS. Also surviving are four grandchildren and a brother, Rev. Paul Davis, Holton. His parents and a sister, Vivian Leatherman, preceded him in death. Mr. Davis was an active member of Bancroft Community Church. He was well known and highly respected in the community; both for his character and for his high degree of skill in his chosen field. He will be greatly missed by many who relied on his careful work. Harold loved the world which God created and some of his happiest moments were spent with his loved ones, engaged in his favorite hobbies of rock collecting and photography. Funeral services were held at the Bancroft Community Church on September 6 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Roger Thompson and Rev. William Chester officiated. Vocal music was furnished by Gary Brown and Mrs. Dale Askren. They were accompanied by Mrs. Claire Jones. Pallbearers were Duane Engelke, Vern Jones, Wylie Ecton, Lloyd Pfeiffer, Edgar Claycamp and Raymond Bradley. Interment was in Ontario Cemetery.
