Description	:	Bruce Tisthammer, 54 of Gladstone, Missouri, formerly of Albion, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015, at Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church, rural Albion with Rev. Michael Kern officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Levander Funeral Home of Albion is handling arrangements. Harold “Bruce” Tisthammer - 54 of Gladstone, Missouri, formerly of Albion, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Kansas City Hospice House following respiratory complications due to Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. The son of Harold and Lois Flotree Tisthammer, was born December 15, 1960 in Neligh, Nebraska. He received his education K-8 at Boone County School District #57 northeast of Albion, graduated from Albion High School in 1979, and continued his education at Kearney State College and later received his Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in San Bernardino, California. On August 28, 1993 Bruce was united in marriage to Desiree Macken at Immanuel-Zion Lutheran Church and had two children – his daughter Blake now – 20 and his son Colton now – 14. Bruce taught physical education in California and Missouri. While in Missouri coached football and basketball for Center Middle School. He had a love for sports, and enjoyed Colton’s football games (Northland Chiefs) “all” of the time, and Husker football games “some” of the time. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating with his family and friends. During his illness, he especially enjoyed many hours of quality time with his daughter, Blake, watching Criminal Minds, CSI and Blue Bloods. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Tisthammer. Surviving Bruce is his wife Desiree and children Blake and Colton. His mother - Lois Tisthammer. His oldest sister, husband and their children - Lorane, Mark, Benjamin, Isaac and Aaron Walth. His younger sister, husband and their children – Janet, Brian, Codi and Lukas Smith. His Inlaws, Tom and Karen Macken, and Dennis & Connie Ritter, along with many other relatives and friends.
