Mr. and Mrs. Todd were born and raised in Shelby County. They have made their home in Clarence since 1952. They enjoyed an early celebration in mid-summer when all the family could be together. Clarence Courier, Clarence, Shelby, Missouri, March 25, 2009 Harold C. Todd, age 86, of Clarence, MO, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence. He was born May 29, 1922, in Lentner, MO, the son of James Arthur and Bertha Mae Reynolds Todd. On December 13, 1943, he was united in marriage to Margaret Bange in Jackson, Mississippi. She survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Roger Todd and his wife, Roseann, of Wilton, WI and Carla Koontz and her husband, Philip, of Clarence; ten grandchildren, Mary Luebke and her husband, Dan, of Holman, WI, Cindy Smith and her husband, Mike, of Laclede, Sally Todd of Clarence, Randall Todd of Clarence, Bryan Todd of Wilton, WI, Becky Bunk and her husband, Matt, of Necadah, WI, Brad Todd and his wife, Hannah, of Wilton, WI, Darrell Todd of Shelbina, Dana Mefford and her husband, David, of Clarence, and Heather Koontz of Clarence; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Nova Gosney and her husband, Arthur, of Milan, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Todd; two sisters, Nellie Blackford and Pauline Dinwiddie; two brothers, Cecil Todd and Loren Todd; and one infant great-granddaughter, Abigail Todd. Mr. Todd was a Christian by faith. He served his country in the United States Army for four years during World War II. He drove an 18-wheeler for several years and worked for twenty years for MO-DOT State Highway Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Graveside services, with Military rites by the Clarence VFW, were Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Clarence. Father Mike Murphy officiated. The Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Clarence Care Center.
