He was born March 1, 1923, in Switzerland County, the son of Blanton T. and Lutishe Walters Darbro. He lived in Switzerland County most of his life, and farmed most of his life. He was employed for several years as a truck driver for the Switzerland County Highway Department, retiring in 1985. Read More	Harold Cole Darbro, 86, of Vevay, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay. He was born March 1, 1923, in Switzerland County, the son of Blanton T. and Lutishe Walters Darbro. He lived in Switzerland County most of his life, and farmed most of his life. He was employed for several years as a truck driver for the Switzerland County Highway Department, retiring in 1985. He was employed for 37 years at the Pearl Packing Co. in Madison until it closed and also worked for several years for the Turner Olds Locker Plant in Vevay. He was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church. He enjoyed butchering and farming. He is survived by his wife, Geneva M. Hizer Darbro, whom he married Jan. 22, 1957; one son, Tim Darbro of Vevay; two daughters, Sandy Demaree of Madison and Barbara Keith of Vevay; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Marie Ramseyer Darbro, whom he married Sept. 30, 1940, and who died May 25, 1956; his parents; one sister, Sarah E. Tapp; two brothers, Robert Lee and Ben Riley Darbro; and two half brothers, Johney and Forrest Darbro. The funeral was at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial was in Vevay Cemetery.
