Description	:	Harold D. Schuessler, 87, of Lone Tree died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at his home in Lone Tree following an extended illness. Funeral service for Harold will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 17, 2008 at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Rev. Jason Pittman and Loren Yoder will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Harold's grandchildren. Harold Dale Schuessler was born on December 27, 1920, on the family farm near Lone Tree the son of Stephen and Mary (Buline) Schuessler. Harold was a 1938 graduate of Lone Tree High School. On December 27, 1941, Harold was united in marriage to Doris Wyjack in Iowa City. Harold farmed north of Lone Tree his entire life. Harold was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree where he served as a Deacon, a 50 year member of the Lone Tree Masons, achieving his 32nd Degree of Masons, member of the KAABA Shrine in Davenport, past member of the Lone Tree School Board, Hills Bank Director, Lincoln Township Trustee, Treasurer for the former Grace United Reformed Church and Past President for the Johnson County Cattleman's Association. He enjoyed working on the farm, playing cards, especiallly Bridge and Euchre, but most of all; Harold dearly loved to spend time with his family. Harold will be dearly missed by his wife, Doris of Lone Tree; his children, Dennis Schuessler and his wife, Donna of Lone Tree, Dean Schuessler and his wife, Sheryl of Channahon, Illinois, Rita Hayes and her husband, Tim of St. Charles, Missouri and Norene Nelson and her husband, Mike of Cedar Rapids; twelve grandchildren, Lisa Cognetti and her husband, Mike, Coleen Orton and her husband, Steve, Darren Schuessler and his wife, Erin, Jill Wright and her husband, Marc, Brian Schuessler and his fiancé, Shay Crabtree, Jolynne Schuessler, Greg Hayes and his wife, Dianna, Matt Hayes, Justin Hayes and his wife, Katie, Todd Nelson and his wife, Brenna, Chad Nelson and Ryan Nelson; and twelve great grandchildren, Tony, Bryce, Chase, Jackson, Isabella, Abigail, Savannah Jane, Greyson, Brianna, Harrison, Hayden and Holden. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marcella Hahn, and Viola Eichelberger.
