Description	:	Harold Daniel Lessard, 80, of Winslow, Maine passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, surrounded by his family. Hal was born July 3, 1926, in Waterville, Maine the son of Everard and Malvina Lessard. He attended Waterville High School, leaving his senior year to join the Navy, where he served as a signalman. Upon discharge from the Navy, he returned to Waterville and graduated with the class of 1947. After graduation, Hal joined the Army and served in Germany for two years. Read More	Harold Daniel Lessard, 80, of Winslow, Maine passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, surrounded by his family. Hal was born July 3, 1926, in Waterville, Maine the son of Everard and Malvina Lessard. He attended Waterville High School, leaving his senior year to join the Navy, where he served as a signalman. Upon discharge from the Navy, he returned to Waterville and graduated with the class of 1947. After graduation, Hal joined the Army and served in Germany for two years. Hal married Shirley Adams on Sept. 17, 1950. He was employed by the Nestle Company for many years, then worked for the Maine State Lottery Commission until his retirement. Hal "Flash" was an outstanding athlete, excelling in hockey at Waterville High School. He loved the game of golf and was proud of his seven handicap. He was also involved in softball, playing in a league for several years. Hal was a life member of the Waterville Elks, American Legion Post 5, and Winslow VFW. Hal is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Shirley Adams Lessard. He is also survived by his daughters, Paula Gordon and her husband, George, of Fairfield, Susan Begin and her husband, Ken, of Winslow, Cyndy Lessard and her boyfriend, Rick Plante, of Winslow, and Ginny Bolduc and her husband, Steve, of Vassalboro. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Jeff and Derek Gordon, Jason and Brandon Carroll, Kelly Chiappetta, and Courtney, Teoma, and Ilya Bolduc; three great-grandchildren, Ayla, Ezra and Elsa Gordon; his sister, Constance Trudel of East Corinth; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Anita Jelen. A graveside service will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine. (Lawry Bros. on-line)
