Description	:	Harold D. Forney, 76, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Saturday, Aug. 27, at Benefis Peace Hospice in Great Falls. Harold was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Great Falls, and was raised on his family homestead at Floweree in Chouteau County. He attended McKinley Grade School, Paris Gibson Junior High and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1955. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Kerkes on June 2, 1956, in the United Brethren Church in Great Falls. Harold was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Great Falls, and was raised on his family homestead at Floweree in Chouteau County. He attended McKinley Grade School, Paris Gibson Junior High and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1955. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Kerkes on June 2, 1956, in the United Brethren Church in Great Falls. Harold worked for Farmers Union Oil Co., City Chevrolet, Day Dodge and Don Ryan Olds, and retired in 1993 from the Cascade Country Road Department. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Lincoln, and traveling around Montana with Betty in their motor home. When Harold was raising his family, he enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, boating, camping and cars. His fondest memories are spending time camping with his family in Glacier National Park and spending time with them at the family cabin in Lincoln. When he was younger, he belonged to the Great Falls DeMolay and the Montana Farmers Union. With no formal music training, he enjoyed playing the accordion, guitar and organ. His interests included restoring his '56 Chevy in 1975 with his daughter, panning gold with his daughter, and snowmobiling with his son in Lincoln. Survivors include his wife of 55 years; a son; two daughters; three grandchildren; a brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Forney; and his parents, Leo C. and Ethel Forney. Complete obituary published in Great Falls Tribune from August 30 to August 31, 2011
