Description	:	Harold (Harry) Sndyer, 93, died June 15, in Blue Hill, Neb. He was born June 15,1905,on a farm near Oak, Neb., to William and Rosa (Schmitt) Snyder. Mr. Snyder spent his grade school years at Fletcher Rural School and graduated from Nelson High School in 1926. He was a member of Nelson's first basketball team to win a state championship in 1926. After a few weeks of collegiate football and college life at Hastings College, he opted to return home and work for the Nuckolls County Road Department. He was born June 15,1905,on a farm near Oak, Neb., to William and Rosa (Schmitt) Snyder. Mr. Snyder spent his grade school years at Fletcher Rural School and graduated from Nelson High School in 1926. He was a member of Nelson's first basketball team to win a state championship in 1926. Except for a brief period of employment with WPA during the 1930s, he worked for the county until his retirement in 1973. Oct. 1, 1930, Harry married Ruby Gillan at Mankato, Kan. During their 67 years of marriage, they resided at Oak. He attended First Community Church in Oak, was a member of Modern Woodman and was an active participant in the Oregon Trail Day celebrations for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Albert, Oscar and Virgil; sisters, Pearl Littrell and Francis Snyder, and a grandson, Daren Harrington. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; son Jerry, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and daughter, Mrs. Darrell Harrington (Karen), Nelson; brother, Vernon, Oak; sister, Golda Follmer, Aurora; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral was June 17 at the First Community Church, in Oak, with the Rev. Leslie Warner and the Rev. Dale Bussinger officiating. Superior Express June 25, 1998.
