He had been hospitalized five weeks after suffering a sever heart attack at his ranch near Fishtail, Mont. Memorial services were held at the Congregational church at Absarokee, Mont., with Rev. Harold, in his quiet unassuming way, held the respect of all who were privileged to know him. Harold Ernest Larson was born Dec. 9, 1903, at Cumberland, Wis., to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Larson. The Andrew Larsons were sea-faring people who came from Norway to homestead in the new world. The Larsons had 14 children, of which 7 grew to maturity. When Harold was 7 his mother passed away and the family moved to Belfield. Later they homesteaded in the Fairfield area, where the family grew up. During the years when he was growing up, Harold worked at various ranches spending a great deal of time at the Lillibridge and Hoereauf homes. He went to Iowa where he did carpenter work for a time before returning to N. Dak. He married Edith Geesaman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Geesaman, on May 15, 1932. Three children were born to the couple, Evelyn, Larry and Carol. During these years Harold was active in church and community affairs. In 1959 they decided to sell their N. Dak. ranch. Near Absarokee they found the place that had everything they had been looking for. They joined the Congregational church at Absarokee and Harold became a member of the Masonic Order. He is survived by his wife, Edith, his children, Mrs. Donald Kempfer (Evelyn) of Baker, Calif., Larry, at home, and Mrs. Wm. Drain (Carol) of Billings; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Lillibridge of Belfield and Mrs. Jess Duncan of Blain, Wash.; a brother, Bob Larson, of Belfield; and a grandson, Harold Kempfer.
