Read More	SOURCE: THE MONTICELLO EXPRESS.....PAGE 1.....JULY 2, 1936 HAROLD LATARE IS FATALLY INJURED Wyoming Boy Died After Auto Accident Which Occurred Saturday Night Harold Latare, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Latare of Wyoming was fatally injured last Saturday evening about 7:30 p.m. when the car in which he was riding with Don Gerdes of Wyoming collided with a car driven by Kermit Usher of Wyoming. The accident occurred near the Fred Storm residence. Latare was rushed to a doctor's office in Wyoming and from there was taken to Mercy hospital in Anamosa where he died Sunday morning at 9 o'clock. Latare was badly bruised about the head and a cut on his face required 23 stitches to close. Gerdes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gerdes, although not seriously injured, received bruises on both legs and is suffering from shock. Usher was not injured. The two boys were employed on a farm south of Wyoming and were returning from work, traveling on the old Wyoming-Oxford Junction road. Usher was approaching the road traveling in a direction horizontal to that of the car in which Latare was riding. The cars collided and the fatality resulted. Harold Latare was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Latare who live on a farm southeast of Wyoming. Harold was born and reared on the farm, attended the Baldwin district school and was a sophomore in the Wyoming high school. He was active in school work, having won a high school letter in basketball; he was a member of the one-act play contest team. Harold was a member of the Lutheran church and was a worker in the Luther League. He is survived, in addition to his parents, by two brothers, Arnold and Donald, and one sister, Esther; his maternal grandparents of Clarence and his grandfather in Wyoming. Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church in Wyoming at 2 o'clock last Tuesday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. G.J. Zeilinger.
