Description	:	Harold was only child of Arnold Clyde and Leona Marie (Zabel) Wagner, born at Graf, NE. Harold was baptized on May 8, 1927 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Johnson, NE. by Rev. Wm. Harder and confirmed April 5, 1942 by Rev. E.C.Hansen, at same church. He graduated from Johnson High School in 1945. He then served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Harold received his honorable discharge Jan. 17, 1947. On May 30, 1948, Harold was united in marriage to Alta Muehler at St. John's Lutheran (Stone)Church, rural Auburn, NE. To this union was born a daughter Nancy K. and a son Ronald L. Harold "Shorty" as his customers knew him, spent over 55 years selling Conoco products. Over the years he provided personal service to his customers in Fairbury, Auburn, and Johnson. Many of these customers became lifelong friends. After spending many years in Auburn, Shorty and Alta moved to his grandmother's farm to enjoy country life. Harold entered the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn in Oct. of 2013. He passed away ther at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 8 days. He us survived by Alta, his wife of 65 years: daughter and husband, Nancy and Charles Hansen of Alpharetta, GA. son and wife, Ron and Susan Wagner of Windsor, CO. grandchildren Jennifer Owens, Eric Hansen, Ryan Wagner, and Brett Wagner. great-grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia Owens. A funeral service held Feb. 22, 2014 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Catherine Burroughs. Pallbearers: Terry Hahn, Doug Stahl, Leo Eden, Steve Lunzmann, Ken Swanson, and Gary Behrends. Honorary bearers were: Roger Broady, Dennis Hahn, Bruce Davis, Arnold Gobber, Charles Gilbert, and Dennis Norvell. Burial followed in the St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Johnson, NE.
