Description	:	Son of Henning J. and Christina (Olnes) Belgum. He attended Boone County School District #19 through the 8th grade, District #57 through the 10th grade, and Albion High school through the 12th grade, graduating in 1932. In 1933 he joined the CCC's (Civilian Conservation Corps) for 3 ½ months where they cleared and built fire trails in the mountains of Oregon. He attended Boone County School District #19 through the 8th grade, District #57 through the 10th grade, and Albion High school through the 12th grade, graduating in 1932. In 1933 he joined the CCC's (Civilian Conservation Corps) for 3 ½ months where they cleared and built fire trails in the mountains of Oregon. He entered the United States Navy in 1934 and served until 1953. He was Honorably Discharged as Chief Petty Officer. He had engine room rating and served 8 years on aircraft carriers, 4 years on the Saratoga and 4 years on the Enterprise, along with serving 3 years stationed in Japan. In 1955 he attended the University of Houston where he studied diesel technology through 1956. The following year he attended the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. In 1957 he worked for Electro-motive Division, of General Motors Corp of Chicago. In 1960 he began work for Federal Electric Corp. and worked in Point Barrow, Alaska and other radar sites across Alaska from 1963 until 1969 where he operated the Diesel Electric Power Plants. The following year, Harold retired and returned to Albion. Harold grew up in the Lutheran faith, and was a long-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving Harold is one sister Marjorie Reynoldson of Albion; Sister-in-law Patricia Belgum of Colorado Springs, CO; Nephews Glenn & Rick Watson of Denver, CO; Mathew Belgum of Anchorage, AK; Nieces: Debbie Gittelsohn of Long Beach, CA; Beth Spence of Denver, CO; Heather Hayes of Colorado Springs, CO; and one great niece Kaitlin Hayes of Colorado Springs. He was preceded by his parents; one infant brother Lyle and brother Delaine.
