Description	:	Harold "Harry" Strauch, age 57, of rural Mitchell, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at his home. His funeral service will be held at 10;100 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morrill, with Pastor Kenneth L Humphrey officiating. Internment will follow at the Mitchell City Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to the Festival of Hope or to the church. Harold was born August 21, 1952 in Scottsbluff to Manuel and Beatrice (Fleck) Strauch. He grew up and received his education in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School with the class of 1970. HE began farming with his father and brother in the Mitchell area and later did custom farming. He worked at Simplot in Morrill for a time and for the last number of years he had worke for Triple T Farms. He was married to Peggy Lashley on March 7, 1981 in Morrill. Harold was diagnosed with leukemia in March of 2008 and for the past two years he fought a hard and courageous battle with his disease. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morrill, was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider and enthusiast, but his true pride and joy in his life was his grandson, Ethan. He is survived by his wife, Peg of Mitchell, sons Jason (Mary) Strauch of Newberry, FL. and Dirk Strauch of Mitchell, his mother Beatrice Chapman of Mitchell, his brother Manuel (Jean) Strauch, Jr. of Mitchell, his sister Carol (Steve) Miller of Cheyenne, WY, his grandson Ethan and yet unnamed future grandchild. He is also survived by a nephew Michael Strauch of Mitchell. His father preceded him in death.
