He attained the age of 82 years, eight months and 13 days. Harold James Elcock was born on a farm south of Lennox, SD on Sep. 16, 1917, the son of William J. and Anna J. (Burma) Elcock. He attended rural school there and graduated from Lennox High School. On Mar. 10, 1944, he was united in marriage to Velma Richter at her parental home, rural Lennox. They lived in the Lennox area most of their married life where Harold was a general contractor in construction until his retirement. In recent years they lived in the St. Louis, MO area to be near their daughters. He was preceded in death by his mother, his father and one sister, Clara Ann Poppens. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Velma; his two daughters: Dr.Devera Elcock-Skimming and her husband, Lee of Glencoe, MO, and Rita Melburn and her husband, Tom, of Manchester, MO.; two grandchildren; one brother Wilbur Elcock of Leavenworth, KS.
