Matt Leach officiating. Mr. Young passed away May 9, 1977, at a Sioux City hospital. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Anna Camarigg. Pallbearers were Francis Lathrop, Linn Cook, Russ Dixon, Francis Schrunk, Roland Eickholt and Wayne Smith. Mrs. Ruth Walker and Mrs. Vi Altimus took care of flowers. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of the Walter Funeral Home. Harold Young was born September 6, 1910, to Leonard and Ethel (Washburn) Young in Independence, Iowa. He lived in St. Anthony's Home in Sioux City following the death of his mother, January 31, 1914, until May 13, 1923. He lived in Sioux City, rural Rock Branch area, Anthon and in Correctionville the past twenty-seven years. He married Vivian Sterrett in South Sioux City, Nebraska, September 4, 1942. He worked on construction for Dixon Brothers until his retirement in August 1975. He also worked as a night patrolman for the Little Sioux Park during the summer of 1976. He was a member of the Correctionville Grace United Methodist Church and a past member of the Woodbury County Peace Officers. Survivors include his wife, Vivian of Correctionville, one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Jean) Swartzle of San Jose, California, two grandchildren and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
