Description	:	Harold L. Foster, 79, of Manhattan, died March 6 in the VA Hospital at Fort Harrison, Mont. He was born near Hilger, Fergus County, Mont., on July 21, 1922, to John C. and Daisy Foster. He completed his elementary education in the country school at Brooks, near Lewistown, and attended two years of high school in Lewistown. On April 1, 1944, he married Judith Miller of Hilger. Read More	Harold L. Foster, 79, of Manhattan, died March 6 in the VA Hospital at Fort Harrison, Mont. He was born near Hilger, Fergus County, Mont., on July 21, 1922, to John C. and Daisy Foster. He completed his elementary education in the country school at Brooks, near Lewistown, and attended two years of high school in Lewistown. On April 1, 1944, he married Judith Miller of Hilger. Twelve days later, Harold entered the Navy during WW II and was discharged January 21, 1946. Harold and Judith had three sons: Melvin, Norman, and Douglas. In 1956, the family moved to Ennis, Mont., and in 1958 to Manhattan, where Harold worked as a ranch hand and a custodian at MSU. He made his home in Manhattan since 1972, and retired in 1985. Harold was a member of the American Legion Post 87 of Manhattan, and the Manhattan Presbyterian Church. Harold is survived by his wife, Judith; two sons, Norman and Douglas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin; his parents; one sister; and three brothers. A graveside service was held Saturday, March 9, at Meadowview Cemetery in Manhattan.
