Read More	HAROLD LEROY WALGREN Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, CO, December 1985 HAROLD WALGREN RITES DEC. 13 Harold Leroy Walgren was born November 30, 1913, to Eric Leo and Della Ayers Walgren at Sutton, NE. He moved with his parents to a farm southeast of Holyoke in 1918. Harold was united in marriage to Maudie Swisher on December 26, 1933, and they moved to the old Wetherbee Ranch in the northeast corner of Yuma County, where they resided until 1966, when they retired and moved to Holyoke. To this union two sons and one daughter were born, Everett, Leonard, and Mildred. Harold and Maudie were married almost 52 years; they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1983. Harold inherited his Dad's love for music, playing several different instruments. He began playing in the family orchestra at the age of 10, later playing in different orchestras until he eventually had his own. Harold loved baseball and softball and participated for many years at the Pleasant Valley ball park southeast of Holyoke. Even in retirement, Harold continued to enjoy these sports as a spectator locally and had the thrill of attending two World Softball tournaments. Harold loved life, especially his family and his home. As a young man, he worked long, hard hours to make a living on the farm, was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in need. Besides a host of friends and neighbors, Harold leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maudie, his son Everett and wife Louise of Holyoke, his son Leonard and wife Judy of LaJunta and his daughter Mildred and husband Duane of Sterling, plus a nephew that he raised, Don Karraker and wife Alberta of Gilbert, AZ. Harold leaves five grandchildren, Cristi Muller, Marla Muller Baker and husband Chuck, Scott Muller, Carrie Walgren and Cassie Walgren Wallin and husband Todd. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Eric Leo and Della Ayers Walgren, and one brother, Warren "Charlie" Walgren. He leaves one brother and three sisters to mourn him, plus many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 1985, at the First Christian Church in Holyoke, Pastor Ken Boswell was in charge of the service. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park.
