Hunt, who died suddenly in Omaha, Tuesday, May 16th, were conducted at the chapel of 'In the Garden Mortuary' in Omaha, Thursday, May 18th, with Rev. Niven and the Masonic lodge in charge. The remains were then taken to O'Neill where services were conducted Friday with interment in Prospect Hill cemetery in O'Neill. Hunt, son of Douglas D. and Blenda Hunt, was born April 3, 1921, at O'Neill, Nebr., and died May 16, 1950 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, at the age of 29 years, 1 month and 13 days. He graduated from the O'Neill public school in 1939 and attended Creighton University from 1939 to 1945, where he received degrees from both Commerce and Law schools. He then started a private law practice, which he continued until his untimely death. In high school he was active in all branches of athletics and played the fullback position on the Creighton Blue Jays for two years. Both during college and after graduation, he was very active in the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity, of which he was president. He was also president of the Inter-Fraternity Council of Creighton. He was a member of the Omaha Barristers Club and the Nebraska State Bar Association. He was a member of the Masonic Mizpah Lodge No. 302, the High Twelve Club and was active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his father, Douglas D. Hunt of O'Neill; six brothers and five sisters as follows: Cecil D. Hunt of Sidney, Nebr., Dr. M. W. Hunt of Battle Creek, Nebr., Melvin R. Hunt of San Lorenzo, Calif., Kenneth C. Hunt of O'Neill, Earl R. Hunt of O'Neill, Carroll L. Hunt of Castro Valley, Calif., Mrs. Ula Vokolek of Lowry City, Mo., Miss Audrey Hunt of Omaha, Mrs. Velma Brink of Omaha, Miss Marjorie Hunt of Fort Worth, Tex., and Miss Eunice E. Hunt of Omaha."
