Description	:	Aberdeen - Harold R. Forbes Sr., 90, of Aberdeen, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 915 S. Dakota St., Aberdeen, with Rev. D.T. Rawerts officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m., Tuesday, at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Huron, S.D. Visitation, with family present, will be 5-7 p.m., Monday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 South Main St., Aberdeen with a public prayer service being held at 7 p.m. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church... Harold R. Forbes was born Aug. 10, 1914, at Willow Lake, S.D. to Oscar E. and Elsie Mae (La Bore) Forbes. This is the area where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Willow Lake High School. Harold married Regena Arends on May 27, 1937 at Mitchell, S.D. They then moved to Melham, S.D., where he operated the General Store and Post Office. In 1943, they moved to a farm southeast of Huron, S.D. and farmed in the Huron and Wolsey area until 1969. In 1969, they moved to Aberdeen, where he worked for the Brown County Highway Department. Regena passed away in November 1972. Harold continued to live in Aberdeen and was married to Frieda Schumacher on Nov. 16, 1973, at Aberdeen. He retired from the Highway Department in 1982 and continued to make Aberdeen his home until the time of his death. Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge, the Eagles and the Custer Township Board. Survivors include his wife, Frieda of Aberdeen, S.D.; two sons, Harold E. (Marlene) Forbes of Mobridge, S.D. and Dean (Susan) Forbes of Whiting, Iowa; one daughter, Janelle (Charles) Snyder of Apple Valley, Minn.; one stepson, Arnold (Delena) Schumacher of Ft. Pierre, S.D.; one step-daughter, Mary Alice (Lou) Boknecht of Atchison, Kan.; one sister, Alice Van Ornum of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eleven step-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Regena; his grandson, Jeffery Forbes and his stepson, Henry Schumacher. Casket bearers will be Harold's grandchildren, Tim Forbes, Tom Forbes, Eric Snyder, Adam Snyder, Gina Forbes and Scout Forbes. Honorary casket bearers will be his step-grandchildren, Pam, Gary, Randy, David, Steven and Daniel Schumacher, Brenda Atkins, Celena Baumgarten and Tim, Scott and Mark Boknecht; his great-grandchildren, Nathan and Benjamin Snyder and Alex and Hunter Forbes; his step-great-grandchildren, Eric, Megan, Kate, Jake, Ike, Austin, Sterling and Ashley Schumacher, Mandi, Brittini and Bo Atkins, Lyndse, Brandi and Preston Baumgarten and Aydann Boknecht and his great-great-grandchild, Taylor Forbes.
