Description	:	Harold Rex Wintermote, 79, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away February 20, 2015 at his home. He was born August 30, 1935 in Davis County to Guy and Eva Elkins Wintermote. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1952 and went to work for Ray Whitacre. In 1955 he married Lois Parker at the Bloomfield Christian Church. He eventually retired from the Davis County Hospital... Read More	Harold Rex Wintermote, 79, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away February 20, 2015 at his home. He was born August 30, 1935 in Davis County to Guy and Eva Elkins Wintermote. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1952 and went to work for Ray Whitacre. In 1955 he married Lois Parker at the Bloomfield Christian Church. He later worked as a butcher and manager for Benner Food Store, Jack and Jill Grocery store, Coast to Coast Store in Bloomfield, traveled for Haw Hardware, owned Carroll Hardware and built houses. He eventually retired from the Davis County Hospital where he had worked in the maintenance department. Rex and Lois also owned and operated Wintermote Fabrics for years. He enjoyed being outside and staying busy with a project. He was a quiet person and was very easy to get along with. Later in life he loved to dance, listen to country music, going for rides, reading western novels, and being with his family. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, past member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Lois Wintermote; two children, Kim (John) DeLand and Troy Wintermote of Bloomfield; four grandchildren Spencer Wintermote of Cedar Rapids, Alyssa (Austin) Swaim of Drakesville, Brittany (Clayton) Hopkins of Bloomfield, Donovan Wintermote of Ocala, Florida; five very special great-grandchildren, Ty, Bryce, and Corbyn Swaim, Tryton Hopkins, Payson Wintermote; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Don, Dick, Bill, Paul, and Dean Wintermote; three sisters, Vera Shepherd, Vivian Kirby, and Ruth McCale. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Bloomfield Christian Church with Pastor Jack Knox officiating. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In accordance with Rex's wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. A service with inurnment of the cremains will be at later date. Memorials have been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church, Good Samaritan Society Hospice, or to the donor's choice.
