Description	:	HARLINGEN, Texas — Harold Robert “Bob” Roads, 84, of Harlingen died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Axtell, Neb., with the Rev. Daren Popple officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Axtell. Craig Funeral Home in Minden, Neb., is in charge of local arrangements. He died surrounded by family. Read More	HARLINGEN, Texas — Harold Robert “Bob” Roads, 84, of Harlingen died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Axtell, Neb., with the Rev. Daren Popple officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Axtell. Craig Funeral Home in Minden, Neb., is in charge of local arrangements. He died surrounded by family. Bob was born in Phelps County, Neb., on a farm northeast of Funk on Jan. 7, 1933, the second of three children born to Harold and Myrtle (Englund) Roads. From his home he could see Prairie Rose District 11 school, which he later attended. The school joined Axtell when he was in the seventh grade, and he graduated from Axtell Community School with the class of 1950. He served his country during the Korean War. Survivors include his son, Jeff and wife Lisa Roads of Homestead, Iowa; son-in-law, Ric Swanson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jesse, Nic, Sammi, Matthew, Andrea, Abbe, Isabella and Jakob; brother, Don and wife Sue Roads of Axtell; sister, Mary Ann Olson of Axtell; great-grandchildren, Collin and Maycee; nephews, Dan Olson, Jerry Roads and Brian Olson; and nieces, Kathy Johnson, Lori Brashers and Sherri Roads. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Debbi Saldivar on April 22, 2016, and Tami Swanson on Jan. 16, 2017; his parents, Harold in 1987 and Myrtle Roads in 1993; brother-in-law, Charles Olson; and niece, Jayne Adams.
