"Dude" Kramer, 75, who passed away September 23, at Melissa Memorial Hospital due to a heart attack. Rev. Eldon Shoemaker, minister of the church, officiated at the services. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Harold Robert "Dude" Kramer, was born June 16, 1903, at Plainview, Nebraska, the eldest of ten sons and three daughters of the late Robert and Anna Hladik Kramer. At the age of four, he, his younger brother, Ed, and his parents traveled by covered wagon from Nebraska to a homestead 50 miles east of Colorado Springs, where he spent his boyhood and attended school in Lincoln County. In 1921, the family moved from the homestead in Lincoln County, to a ranch near Yuma. At that time, Harold and his brother Ed, started a farming and ranching operation and resided in the Wages Community and later on, a cattle ranch near Laird. Their last ranch was located southeast of Holyoke. "Dude" retired from ranching in 1961, and since that time has resided in Holyoke. He continued his lifelong interest in cattle raising and ranching and spent most of his weekends at this brothers' and nephews' ranches. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers. He is survived by three brothers, Harry E. of Wray, Vernon O. of Holyoke, and Ray A. of Greeley; three sisters, Dorothy M. Porter of Golden, Elsie A. Thomas, of Denver, and Jean Rothenberger of Grant, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
