Description	:	Harold R. Nott, 94, of Hooper died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. He was born Aug. 2, 1911, west of Elgin in rural Antelope County to Ross Nott and Mae (Kelly) Nott. He graduated from Neligh High School in 1928. Read More	Harold R. Nott, 94, of Hooper died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. He was born Aug. 2, 1911, west of Elgin in rural Antelope County to Ross Nott and Mae (Kelly) Nott. He graduated from Neligh High School in 1928. He married Rosezella Mock on Dec. 20, 1934, in Columbus. After their marriage, they lived in Oakdale where he worked as an auto mechanic. They moved to Bridger, Mont., in 1936 and Flensburg, Minn., in 1937, where he worked at an auto repair shop. During World War II, he worked in construction in Powell, Wyo., and, in 1942, moved his family to Scribner, where he helped with construction at Scribner Air Base. In 1945, he started working at Smida Studebaker Garage in Hooper, where he sold and repaired automobiles. He was employed there for 18 years. In 1963, they bought the Sinclair Gas Station & café, where he operated the garage and station and Rosie ran the café, until they sold the business in 1974. He intended to retire at that time, but was interested in making good use of his repair skills and started to work at the Elkhorn Valley Golf Course in maintenance and mowing. He continued there until he retired again in 1987. His wife preceded him in death Nov. 4, 2003. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper and served on the Hooper School Board for eight years. He was active in assisting with the scouting program in Hooper for many years. He was a longtime member of the Hooper Commercial Club. Survivors include: two sons, Gene (and wife, Marian) and Richard (and wife, Marilyn), all of Fremont; two daughters, Joan (Mrs. David) Stevens of Bemidji, Minn., and Janice (Mrs. William) White of Summerville, S.C., a daughter-in-law, Alice Nott of Fremont; a sister, Lorraine (Mrs. Harry) Getzfreid of Basin, Wyo.; two brothers, Lyle (and wife, Odeal) Nott of Bridger, Mont., and Donald (and wife, Jeanette) Nott of Reedsport, Ore.; nine grandchildren, Mike Stevens, Mark Stevens (and wife, Lennae) of Bemidji, Diane and Larry Hagen of Woodbury, Minn., Ron Nott of Bozeman, Mont., Roger Nott of St. Charles, Mo., Troy Nott of Cedar Bluffs, Todd Nott (and wife, JoAnn) of Plattsmouth, Jill Watson (and husband, Brian) of Fremont and Kelle & K.C. Carnes of Arlington; 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. He also was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary Nott, three brothers, Wayne, Roy and Clifford, and a grandson, Judd Andrew Nott. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper with the Rev. Joel Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Warne-Johnson Funeral Home in Hooper with family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Hooper Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mark Stevens, Mike Stevens, Troy Nott, Todd Nott, Roger Nott, Ron Nott, Brian Watson, K.C. Carnes and Larry Hagen. Honorary casket bearers are Diane Hagen, Jill Watson and Kelle Carnes. Memorials have been established to Redeemer Lutheran Church and Hooper Care Center.
