He felt called into the ministry at a young age and became a Pastor with the Church of God denomination, where he has faithfully served for over 64 years. Read More	Harold Talmadge Anderson, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2019. He felt called into the ministry at a young age and became a Pastor with the Church of God denomination, where he has faithfully served for over 64 years. He loved his church families dearly and compassionately and always felt it a privilege and a joy to pastor his flock. Harold retired in January of 2017 from the Sharpsburg Church of God. Harold was born in Wayne County on October 31, 1928 to the late Lee H. Anderson and Mae Bell Howell Anderson. For 51 years, Harold served in ministry with his wife, Letha Mae Gurley Anderson, who preceded him in death on September 5, 2000. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Harold was a man of incredible faith in God, hope for the world, and love for others. He will be remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate man and loyal friend to so many. Harold’s passion was reaching those who did not know his Lord. His faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was his anchor. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Eastern North Carolina Church of God Conference Center in Kenly followed by a funeral service to celebrate Harold’s life and give witness to his faith in Jesus Christ at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Eastern North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with military honors. Harold is survived by his devoted wife of almost 19 years, Alice Wise Anderson; daughter, Angela D. Anderson; sons, R. Stanley Anderson and wife Roschelle of Pikeville, Phillip C. Anderson and wife Sim of Newport News, VA, and Kevin B. Anderson of Bailey; daughter-in-law, Barbara Anderson of Salter Path; step-sons, Chris Wise and wife Laura of Goldsboro and Anthony Wise and wife Dena of Goldsboro; sisters, Janice McClendon and husband Thomas of Goldsboro and Jessie Huntley of Kissimmee, FL; grandchildren, Kimberly Anderson Dryden, Harold T. Anderson III (Rachel), Benjamin M. Anderson (Alicia Joy), Brandon Lee Anderson, Lacey Renee Anderson Pittman, Amanda Joy Cooper and Brent Anderson Cooper (Hannah); step-grandchildren, Alexis Sanders (Nolan), Baron Wise, Morgan Wise, Miranda Blizzard, Drake Wise and Shannon Wise; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Harold T. Anderson, Jr. and brothers, Riley V. Anderson and Jack Anderson. We who had the privilege of loving Harold rejoice in knowing that even now he is hearing the commendation of his Lord and Savior telling him, “Well done, my good and faithful son, Harold.
