Description	:	KEARNEY — Harold W. Charron, 87, of Ravenna died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Congregational Church in Ravenna with the Rev. Jeff Zinnel officiating. Burial will be at Sodtown Cemetery. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements. He was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Central City to Luther and Doris (Clark) Charron. He was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Central City to Luther and Doris (Clark) Charron. On Nov. 16, 1947, he married Joan Zlomke in Grand Island. Survivors include his wife; children and their spouses, Linda Cone of North Carolina, Kathy and Dwight Hill of Kansas, Susan and Doug Allemang of Bartlett, Janet and Melvin Gideon and Bill Charron, all of Burwell, Marcia Cone and Joe and Jeni Charron, all of Ravenna, Laura and John Taylor of Brewster, and Dan Charron of Scottsbluff; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Charron and his wife, Ruby, of Central City; and sister, Katherine Schick and her husband, Don, of Curtis. He and Joan made their home near Central City until 1959 when they moved to a ranch near Ravenna. The father of nine children, he considered his family his greatest blessing. Harold was a rancher who loved his cattle, horses and dogs. He would say he "farmed just enough to feed his cows." He was preceded in death by his brother, Max Charron, and grandsons, David Hill and Wes Gideon.
