Knapp, a pioneer settler of Iowa and South. Dakota, who has been ill for a long time, died at her home, near Westfield, on Saturday. She had been a sufferer from cancer. Mrs. Knapp had been gradually growing weaker and her death was not unexpected. Mrs. Knapp was born in Stonington, Conn., September 10, 1842. when a child she moved with her parents to Illinois. On November 17, 1861, she married Mr. Knapp, who died thirteen years ago. In 1866 she and her husband settled on a homestead four miles south of Elk Point, South Dakota. They lived there for ten years, then moved to a farm near Westfield, where she lived until her death. Ten children survive. They are; Charles P. Knapp, of Westfield, la.; Noah R. Knapp, of Westfield, la . ; William A. Knapp, of Westfield, la.; Mrs. S. S. Sanford, of Minnesota; Mrs. W. J. Bennett, of Akron, la ; Mrs. M. G. Goodness, of Lake Andes, South Dakota; Mrs. H. R. Grow, of Chatsworth, la.; and Mrs. C. P. Nissen, of Ryegnte, Mont. The funeral services were held yesterday morning at ten o'clock at the residence and the interment made in the Logan Park cemetery in Sioux City.
