Obituary next week. _____ Obituary March 9, 1909 Harriet Atara Ward Benson, daughter of Homer and Jennie Benson, was born April 1, 1886, at the Benson home about 4 miles north of Kellogg. Here the days of her childhood and youth were spent, and here she grew into womanhood. She was married to Harry Holmes on December 20, 1905. This union proved to be a happy one, and great was their joy when a baby boy was born to them a week ago last Sunday to bless the home and gladden the hearts of the happy parents. But, alas, the hours of joy and happiness were soon followed by hours of sorrow and sadness. The mother went into the Valley of the Shadow and did not return, but the baby lives. Our hearts are filled with grief and our eyes with tears but we bow our heads in silence and submit to the inscrutable will of an all-wise Father and say: "It is the Lord, let Him do what seemeth Him good." Funeral services were held at the Congregational church last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. G. Oltmann, and the remains were laid to rest in the Kellogg cemetery. May she rest in peace.
