Her other first cousin Richard Conkright was a teacher in the first school house built in Appanoose County about 1852. Harriett was raised in Barlow, Washington County, Ohio on the Conkright farm, settled by the brothers Richard and her father Barago. There she met and married David Green. In the early 1850s several families from Barlow moved to Appanoose County. ___________________________________ From the Cincinnati Items in the Thursday, April 13th,1899 Centerville Journal: Died in her home in this city on this date April 8th Mrs. David GREEN age 77 years. Old age was the chief cause of her death which was a surprise to many though by her immediate friends the sweet messenger of death was expected several days before he came to release her from the long suffering she had endured for many years. She was buried Sunday in the cemetery two miles west of this city. She leaves behind an aged husband who is blind and almost deaf two sons and four daughters who mourn her loss. The sons Bert and D.P. reside here. Also Madame Julia Green and Mrs. W. H. Harris of the city. Mrs. Lottie Stalker, another daughter,, resides in Seymour.
