Read More	Harriet Elsie Brookhouser was born near Venus, Nebr. and died March 23, 1915, aged 24 years, 7 months and 10 days. She was married to August Basler, June 17, 1914. To this union was born a son at the time of the mother's death. She leaves to mourn her departure, a grief stricken husband and her little babe, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Brookhousre, three sisters, Minnie, Grace and Opal and four brothers, John, Percy, Archie and David and a host of friends. Mrs. Elsie Basler was a successful teacher for some years. She was a kind daughter, a loving sister, a faithful friend and a good wife. She had a sunny disposition and looked on the bright side of life. The funeral services were held from the M.E. Church at Venus, Thursday afternoon, Rev. W.F. Herman, pastor of the United Brethren church of Walnut officiating. Although it was a very cold day, the church was not large enough to hold the friends, that came to pay the last tribute to the deceased. The beautiful casket was covered with floral offering. The remains were taken to Enterprise cemetery, where the body was laid to rest. The sorrowing husband and father has the heartfelt sympathy of his many friends. ...The Creighton News 1 April 1915
