Description	:	Daughter of David Tate & Tabitha Faulkner. Wife of Henderson Alonzo Fowler. Although Harriet (Falkner) Fowler was the daughter of David Tate; he claimed her as his daughter from the time he discovered her existance when he returned from the War of 1812; he gave her all his property while they were still in North Carolina; she named several children for her Tate side of the family; and he accompanied the family to Arkansas in 1852 and became one of the earlier burials in the Western Grove Cemetery when he died late in 1852, David Tate and Tabitha... Although Harriet (Falkner) Fowler was the daughter of David Tate; he claimed her as his daughter from the time he discovered her existance when he returned from the War of 1812; he gave her all his property while they were still in North Carolina; she named several children for her Tate side of the family; and he accompanied the family to Arkansas in 1852 and became one of the earlier burials in the Western Grove Cemetery when he died late in 1852, David Tate and Tabitha Falkner never married (though ironically eighty some years after Tabitha's death, their adjacent box tomb graves were mistakenly combined in a cemetery cleaning about 1950), Harriet never used the name Tate, and married under her official surname of Falkner. Three children who died young in North Carolina were buried in the old Haw Fields Cemetery which was destroyed by a farmer who decided to toss the tombstones to the fencerow and add the cemetery to his corn field. Discovered by descendants of some buried there when they visited in 1890. The Fowler children buried there were David Fowler born 1840, Matilda Fowler born 1844 and Eliza Fowler born 1850. In Arkansas, daughter Susan Fowler born 1848 died early in the Civil War, probably about 1862 and was buried in the Western Grove Cemetery.
