She always thought of others first and even in her last hours told her mother not to weep, and... Read More	OBITUARY Harriet Ida Elrod was born July 24th, 1878; married to R. L. Green March 31st, 1897; died Jan. 25th 1898, aged 19 years 6 months and 1 day. The death of Mrs. Reuben Green which occurred Tuesday at midnight cause a sadness over the community. She professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist church at Flat Top at the age of 15 and lived a consistent christian life up to her death. To know her was to love. She always thought of others first and even in her last hours told her mother not to weep, and assured them she "was not afraid to die." She left a dear little babe of three weeks. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. David Green. So arrayed in her wedding dress was buried Thursday in the presence of a large number of friends. This was a sad death, especially to her husband, father, mother and sisters. We fully sympathize with the bereaved ones in their loss. The writer was watching over her when the death Angel came to claim his victim and feels assured that she gave every evidence that our loss was her gain; therefore I would admonish her friends and playmates to live such pure lives that they may meet Ida on the other shore where parting is no more.
