She was suffering from neuritis when pneumonia set in. She came with her parents to McGregor as a young woman. She married John Knickerbocker there on 22 Apr 1871; they had six children together. Living children: Alfredf I. and Mrs. Lucy Alcorn of Edgewood; Mrs. Effie Lash of Alexander, ND; William of Motine, ND; children who preceded her were a baby and Mrs. Sarah Richards. Her husband died nine year ago. She was survived by 12 grandchildren. Other survivors: brother Joseph Fisher of Charles City, sister Sarah Hampshire of McGregor, and sister Clara Gillet of Charles City. In 1875 Harriet and John Knickerbocker moved to a farm near Wood, Iowa, that was their home for 30 years, after which they moved into Edgewood and made their home there until Mr. Knickerbocker's death. Since then she has made her home with her children. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Edgewood; burial in Edgewood Cemetery
