Edgar. resident of this section for many years, died Thursday at her home in Mapleton after an illness of 2 years. Mrs Edgar was 65 years old. During the last year Mrs Edgar was almost helpless. Yet she never complained, but always had a smile for everyone. Before her marriage, Mrs. Edgar was Harriet L Marsh. She was born in Joe Davis Co, IL October 17, 1860. While still a child she came to western Iowa with her parents who settled near Woodbine. Later she came to Mapleton where her brother, John, homesteaded the farm now occupied by Francis Katton. Mr and Mrs Edgar were married Nov 1, 1879. Two children were born to them - Mrs George Hollister, of Mapleton and Jesse Edgar of Sac City. Besides the husband and the children, Mrs Edgar is survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 brothers, and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2 Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. G.W. Lunn in charge. Burial was in the Heisler cemetery where the Rebekahs took charge. Mrs Edgar had been a member of the Rebekahs for 27 years and was an active member until her health began to fail. Among those from out of town who attended the funeral of Mrs Edgar were: Mr and Mrs Chester Marsh and Sidney Marsh of Brewster, MN; Mr and Mrs Wayne Devault and Mr and Mrs Charles Smith of Onawa; Henry Marsh of Sauk Rapids, MN; George Marsh of Onawa; Clark Marsh of Omaha; Jay Erlemeir of Manilla; Earl Custer and daughter Lola; Mrs Annis Parker and Mrs Will Adams of Smithland.
