Description	:	Harriett A. Lynch was born on August 12, 1924 in Aurora, SD the daughter of James and Agnes (Buckley) Allstot. She died on Friday, September 2, 2005 at her residence in Brookings at the age of 81. Harriett received her education in rural school in Moody County, SD and was a graduate of the Aurora High School in 1942. During WWII, Harriett worked in the shipping yards in Vallejo, CA. Lynch was born on August 12, 1924 in Aurora, SD the daughter of James and Agnes (Buckley) Allstot. She died on Friday, September 2, 2005 at her residence in Brookings at the age of 81. Harriett received her education in rural school in Moody County, SD and was a graduate of the Aurora High School in 1942. During WWII, Harriett worked in the shipping yards in Vallejo, CA. She was united in marriage to Clarence Lynch on August 7, 1943 in Vallejo. After the war they returned to Brookings County where they farmed until Clarence retired and they moved into Brookings. Harriett continued her employment at SDSU until her retirement in 1989. Clarence died on October 10, 1995 in Brookings. She was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Parish. She enjoyed dancing, being a good friend to many people and especially spending time with family and friends. Harriett is survived by one son Larry Lynch (Joan) of Clear Lake, SD; three grandsons Matthew Lynch (Stacey) of Baltic, SD, Michael Lynch (Cheryl) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jamie Lynch (Kristin) of Tucson, AZ; one step granddaughter Anita Goens of Sioux Falls, SD; three great-grandsons; three step great-granddaughters; one step great-grandson; two sisters Gen Young of Brookings, SD, Doris Leslie of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother Leonard Allstot (Lorraine) of Brookings, SD; three sisters-in-law Margaret Allstot of Aurora, SD, Viola Little of Brookings, SD, Dorothy Allstot of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and five brothers.
